completely ridiculous. after lucking out finding soundwave at one walgreens, i decided to hit the other one i knew about over by lloyd center and see what was about. not a lot, as it turned out. just some of the new The Corps figures, which is actually a pretty good value. two gijoe knock-offs for $4, and they’ve got bio art by leinil ‘secret invasion’ yu.

as i recall (can’t find it online of course) the publisher that was doing the gijoe comics a couple years ago lost the license, and proceeded to pick up the license to The Corps, instead. which was such a ballsy move i almost cared enough to track it down. (not actually, but i’ll buy a dirt-cheap knockoff joe if it looks like willem dafoe, why not.)

so then i saw another walgreens while out getting boxes for the big move, thought what the hell, i’ll stop by. and they had the other transformer i’ve been looking for forever, animated waspinator.

also a three inch articulated keychain of barricade (the decepticon cop-car) that’s small enough to look good next to the five inch robot replicas version of starscream, and the stocky deluxe-class soundwave. so score, movie decepicons ftw. who needs transformations?

(technically soundwave does transform, but since it’s a beast era ”turn him around and fold up his legs into his chest, viola satellite!’ change, and he’s actually got his satellite mode head exposed on his robot mode back, and vice versa, it barely counts.)
