i suspect he’s talking about the whinging of privileged white elites, but this is The Tone Argument writ large and it is used frequently by those same privileged elites to silence legitimate dissent, and some things //actually are offensive//.  this is a conflation of structure with value.  a poorly worded complaint is not inherently without truth any more than a well phrased lie deserves to be heard.

the only tiring part of this is the public figure who’s come under fire for their mistakes in the past saying ‘i’m tired of all this preening scrutiny’.  if / then, shut the fuck up.  i’ll not have any of this ‘i don’t give a damn about your offense’ noise from a guy who’s said some bullshit things in his day and then pretended not to hear the complaints.
