okay, a bit better information. this was distributed / made? by playmates toys, of tmnt and 90s star trek fame, back in 1984. the complete roster of numbered vehicles according to what i can see on ebay:

02 - the yellow ‘explorer’ utility truck / trailer thing. no action that i can recall except hooking up to the back of another land vehicle.
03 - the orange radar / missile truck, missiles move in and out, and can angle up and down.
04 - ‘commander 04’, the space-van command center with the sweet gullwing doors.
05 - the tiny shuttle pod, which was drawn in red as the ‘time rocket’ in madman.
06 - the space station itself, with rotating gun turret, working elevator, green command chairs, and six astronauts.
07 - the flying saucer with two aliens, who could sit back to back, i think. had an opening dome hatch, pivoting laser cannon, and the three engines on the rim were attached to legs which could fold down into a tripod mode.

i can’t remember any other vehicles, but there must have been something labelled 01. no idea what. for some reason this particular auction also included t-bob from m.a.s.k., who fits in well enough, but obviously wasn’t part of the original set, being made by hasbro, a rival company then and now. might as well include the galactic heroes artoo and threepio while you’re at it.

being molded largely in unpainted white plastic in 1984 means that most of these sets are now mostly yellow plastic, and being little kid toys means they were all probably very well loved and abused. i’ve actually still got our station (and possible the time rocket) but i attemped to modify it circa 1994? to accomodate exosquad e-frames (ironically also by playmates toys ten years later) and ended up cracking off most of the elevated station floor, when i’d meant to just remove part of the catwalk. (which was itself a terrible idea…)

wow, yeah. i’m totally going to try to track down a good condition set with the flying saucer and commander 04 and the shuttle. and get the new one. because that’s just how i roll.
