previously, on television
just watched what i think was the season finale of heroes? and nothing appeared to have happened since the premiere. nice one? solid episode, though. also good was the previous episode where sylar met his dad, played by lionel luthor / the devil.
on dollhouse, now. implied spoilers for this weeks episode follow, so if you haven’t watched, maybe stop reading now.

battlestar galactica - could it happen here?
it’s obvious now that every time someone said ‘all of this has happened before, and will happen again’, it was a metaphor for popular genre television shows. moore’s law, per mr. bread just now, is that the quality of a show’s ending shall be inversely proportional to the quality of the show itself.
thus, galactica was a great show with a kind of crap ending,...

if i want to get the possibly genocidal droid from kotor, i’ll have to buy most of a wave of episode two figures, including young soondead and gonnabiteit owen and beru, lame-ass e2 oobie, and some boring naboo guard guy.
owen comes with a ridiculous bathrobe, and beru could at least be a good base for a female jedi. the naboo guy as well has potential for something interesting.
but e2...
on watchmen
the trick with any adaptation, of course, is that you can’t simply boil it down to the best elements of the original book, and film those. you have to change things enough to work as a film, without losing the core of what made the original work so compelling. knowing what to change is incredibly difficult, which is why people drop the ball as often as not. look at the first two harry...

dear zack snyder
moloch is pronounced ‘mow-lock’ like morlock, not ‘maw-lek’ like mollusk.
molech is a common variant, but would still be pronounced ‘mow-leck’. and alan moore spelled it with two o’s, so please feel free to feel bad about this one.
the trick with paying so much attention to detail is that something inevitably slips through, and becomes more noticable...

they had the new transformers: universe hot shot at freddies on friday, and i couldn’t afford it, but i thought, man, willis must be happy. being that he loves hot shot far far too much, has all the variants and a cardboard standee and so on and suchlike.
but i forgot about that. then today at lunch, i remembered to hit the site and see if he’d found one yet, and if so, how happy...

Warning on touch-up paint, after the usual flammable / poisonous bits - ‘may cause heritable genetic damage’.
It was freezing cold as I went to bed last night even with a stack of blankets, so I put socks on. Woke up this morning wearing one sock.
Or, you know, a touchscreen kindle running android in b+w. That would work too.

microsoft, please. windows mobile is a joke. let’s just be honest here. i’ve said before that i like my treo running winmo, and i find the os to be wobbly and kind of limited, but in an ironically nostalgic way.
see, i grew up on windows 3.1, so this is all familiar to me. i was even able to pull out my 3.1 / 95 era .wavs and midi and load up my treo’s 2gb mini-sd card with...
